This person will have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their role or roles.  This person will demonstrate that they have the capacity, commitment and ethics to become part of the future national leadership of the Australian forest industries value chain.

Woman in Forest Industries Award of Excellence

This is an individual prize.

This woman will have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their profession and contributed significantly to the forest industry. She will be either an emerging female leader or someone who has had a profound impact throughout their career. This woman will be a role model who is inspiring her female and male peers, and will continue to do so for years to come.

Innovation in Training Award

The nominee (person or company) has demonstrated excellence in innovation of training initiatives anywhere across the Australian forest industries full value chain. In doing so, the nominee has demonstrably committed to personal, vocational or industry development and has successfully implemented programs, practices or policies to better the training and development of the forest industry.

The nominee (person or company) has demonstrated excellence in their development of industry initiatives and contributions towards health, safety and well-being within the Australian forest industry value chain. In doing so, the nominee has developed or advanced, systems or protocols to reduce hazards and risks to forest industry employees and stakeholders (anywhere from forest operations through to the most advanced fibre manufacturing processes).

The nominee (person or company) has demonstrated solutions and innovations that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs anywhere in the Australian forest industries value chain. This may be evidenced through more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, or business models and approaches.

Who may enter?

You may nominate any individual or company, you can nominate yourself, your company or someone else.

What is the prize?

  1. National recognition of excellence
  2. Custom made trophy engraved with award recipient’s name
  3. $1000 cash prize for each award

What is the judging process?

The judging panel will shortlist nominees to 3 finalists who will be informed. The final winners in each category will be announced at the AFPA Gala all-industry dinner in Canberra, 1 September 2021.

What do I need to include in my entry?

  1. An overview of the individual or company, explaining how they meet the criteria and why they are noteworthy in this category.

  3. Any photos relevant to your submission – these may be displayed at the Gala Dinner.
