MEDIA RELEASE
The Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA) is delighted to announce it has secured the three key Federal spokespeople for the forest products industry to participate in The Great Political Debate, a Political Forum Dinner at the National Press Club on Wednesday 1 June 2016.
Senator the Hon Anne Ruston, Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, will represent the Coalition, the Hon Joel Fitzgibbon MP, Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry will represent the Australian Labor Party, and Senator Janet Rice, will represent the Australian Greens as spokesperson for Forestry.
AFPA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ross Hampton said, “This event will be the cornerstone of the AFPA Election Campaign. It will provide the major parties with a platform to announce the policies they will be taking to the election which will affect the forest products industry.”
“I urge all with an interest in the forest products industry to attend this debate as the major industry event of the year. Collectively we are a very significant industry with a large number of stakeholders. We need these Federal politicians to see us en masse and as a collective voice for the 120,000 people we represent.”
